Resting in Awareness

Glen Svensson · 76 minutes

In the three-part guided practice we move from observing thoughts, to the space in which they arise, to releasing appearances altogether. Glen Svensson then introduces resting in awareness, the shamatha practice with no object but awareness itself, using Padmasambhava's instructions on gaze, relaxation and correcting laxity or excitation, and guides it in full. Tilopa's six words of advice follow. Questions ask whether thoughts vanish once observed, and what counts as distraction here.
