Module 11: Walking the Path: Foundations for Lifelong Practice & Growth · The Buddha’s Path

S2 - Applying the Path Where You Are

David Oromith · 90 minutes · recorded September 10, 2025

The session opens with a twenty minute guided meditation on the preciousness of human life, drawing on the Dalai Lama's reflection to arouse gratitude and resolve. David turns to self-reliance: the Buddha's advice to Ananda to be your own island, balanced against relying on teachers, and uses the leaking boat and the bike with stabilisers to explain ethics, calm and wisdom. Questions cover leaving a toxic WhatsApp group and noticing calmer reactions over time.
