Module 6: Foundations of Buddhist Meditation III: The Four Immeasurables · The Buddha’s Path
Session 2 - Loving-Kindness (part two)
David Oromith · 92 minutes · recorded September 17, 2024
In the classic loving-kindness meditation we move through ourselves, an admired person, a close friend, a stranger and an enemy, using the phrases may you be well, happy and safe. David works through Lama Alan's antidotes for a difficult person: seeing them as multifaceted rather than a caricature, questioning what exactly is hated, and reflecting on emptiness of self. Questions cover forgiveness, distancing from a difficult colleague, and separating someone's behaviour from who they are.
