Joanne Cacciatore

Professor of Trauma and Bereavement, and Author

Joanne Cacciatore, PhD, is the founder of the international NGO the MISS Foundation and the author of the award winning best seller Bearing the Unbearable: Love, Loss, and the Heartbreaking Path of Grief. She is a Professor at Arizona State University and the director of its Graduate Certificate in Trauma and Bereavement Program, and has been a bereaved mother since the death of her daughter in 1994. The work of the Selah Carefarm was featured in Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry's docuseries The Me You Can't See in 2021, and the Associated Press ran a feature on it in 2022.
