Memoirs of a Buddhist Monk
Matthieu Ricard · 93 minutes · recorded January 9, 2023
Matthieu Ricard presents his memoir, with photographs. He talks about leaving molecular biology at the Pasteur Institute after meeting Kangyur Rinpoche in Darjeeling at twenty one, seven years in a hermitage with no electricity or running water, thirteen years as an attendant to Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, and the 1985 return to Tibet, to crowds who had not seen such a teacher in thirty years. Questions cover devotion against infatuation, mind and brain, and altruism.
This public presentation with Venerable Matthieu Ricard was hosted by Tibet House Barcelona, with assistance from the CCN.
