Open Presence & Not Identifying With Our Thoughts

David Oromith · 27 minutes · recorded April 2, 2023

In a practice of open presence we move through touch, sight and sound before turning to the mind itself, watching thoughts, memories and emotions arise and pass without identifying with them, like a third party looking in. David talks about why this works even in a noisy environment, and about thoughts that catastrophise or generalise, such as I am a failure or nobody cares about me. He draws on his teacher Venerable Robina's point that the real problem is believing a thought to be true.
