S4 - Getting Off the Thought Bus, and the Sky-Like Mind

David Oromith · 79 minutes · recorded February 4, 2023

After settling with the breath, David turns to the nature of thoughts: how we fuse with them, the story of the two arrows, and the image of thoughts as buses we climb aboard without checking where they go. He teaches thought labelling, simply naming a thought as a thought to loosen its pull, then leads a meditation in which we picture the mind as open sky and thoughts as passing clouds. Discussion covers writing thoughts down to gain distance, and the habit of worrying about worry itself.
